Job Title: Manufacturing Development Engineer I
Location: Camarillo, CA
Duration: 1 Year + Possible Extension
What You ll Do:
As a Manufacturing Development Engineer I, you will be involved in the design, development, and improvement of manufacturing processes and systems to enhance productivity, quality, and efficiency. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support manufacturing operations and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Functions:
- Participate in the design and development of manufacturing processes, methods, and systems to meet production goals and quality standards.
- Collaborate with product design teams to ensure manufacturability and scalability of new products, providing input and recommendations for process improvements.
- Conduct feasibility studies and analyses to evaluate manufacturing processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement cost-effective solutions.
- Assist in the implementation of new manufacturing technologies, equipment, and automation systems to improve efficiency and reduce cycle times.
- Support manufacturing operations by troubleshooting process issues, conducting root cause analyses, and implementing corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including process instructions, work procedures, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Participate in cross-functional teams to support new product introductions (NPI) and ensure a smooth transition to production.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing engineering or a related role.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, techniques, and principles.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and manufacturing software/tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop innovative solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles and methodologies (e.g., Kaizen, 5S, Value Stream Mapping).
- Familiarity with statistical analysis tools and methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, DOE).
- Knowledge of manufacturing quality standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100).
- Experience with manufacturing process simulation software (e.g., Simul8, Arena).
- Certification or training in manufacturing engineering or related fields
