This leader ensures the safe, efficient, and predictable production of finished goods that meet defined standards for quality, cost, and on-time delivery. This role is fully accountable for manufacturing performance, including output, labor efficiency, cost control, safety, and continuous improvement. The Director of Manufacturing is expected to proactively identify issues, implement solutions, and deliver measurable results. Leaders are expected to be visible, engaged, and connected to the day-to-day realities of the business. Performance is measured. Results matter. Core Accountabilities Manufacturing Performance Owning output, quality, labor efficiency, safety, and cost performance as reflected in EOS scorecards and KPIs. Delivering production targets on time and within defined cost parameters. Maintaining accurate capacity planning aligned to demand forecasts. Financial & Cost Discipline Owning production unit costing (PUCs), labor utilization, and material consumption accuracy. Identifying and correcting cost variances. Driving waste reduction and margin improvement initiatives. Operational Excellence Leading and sustaining Lean initiatives including 5S and continuous improvement efforts. Ensuring BOM accuracy, routing accuracy, and inventory integrity. Maintaining disciplined execution in Microsoft Business Central (production orders, labor reporting, inventory transactions). Team Leadership & Accountability Setting clear expectations for supervisors and team leads. Holding team members accountable for results and behaviors aligned with Core Values. Recruiting, developing, and retaining a high-performing manufacturing team. Addressing performance gaps promptly and directly. Cross-Functional Alignment Partnering with Operations, Finance, Engineering, and Supply Chain to align production plans with demand, inventory strategy, and financial targets. Supporting product development and ensuring manufacturability. Safety & Compliance Championing a culture of safety ownership. Ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory standards. Required Skills & Competencies Strong operational discipline with demonstrated ownership of measurable manufacturing results. Proven ability to hold teams accountable while maintaining trust and respect. Deep working knowledge of: BOM structures and accuracy Production unit costing (PUCs) Labor and material consumption analysis Continuous improvement methodologies Ability to translate strategic goals into executable production plans. Clear communicator who follows through on commitments and expects the same from others. Preferred Experience Experience working alongside engineering teams (SolidWorks familiarity preferred). Understanding of CNC programming and machining workflows. Exposure to gear production, hobbing, and heat-treating processes. Experience with aluminum extrusions and diverse raw materials. Background in mechanical or electrical systems manufacturing. Hands-on experience with Microsoft Business Central (ERP). Experience operating within EOS (scorecards, Rocks, L10 cadence). Education & Experience High school diploma required; technical or business degree preferred. 10+ years of manufacturing experience. Minimum 5 years in a leadership role with direct accountability for results. Work Environment Regular presence on the production floor required. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
