Job Type : Full TimeLocation : Sumter, South CarolinaPay : Great Pay, Benefits + Relocation Assistance AvailableJob Description What you will be doing:- Provide hands-on lineside engineering support for a production line, driving improvements across Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
- Lead process and equipment optimization initiatives to increase capacity, reduce waste, improve quality, and lower costs using data-driven methods.
- Design, modify, and implement machine, tooling, and fixture improvements, including installation, debugging, and commissioning.
- Troubleshoot and support cam-driven equipment integrated with pneumatic, servo, and PLC-controlled systems and sensors.
- Spend 70–80% of time on the manufacturing floor, supporting troubleshooting, maintenance, and continuous improvement activities in a fast-paced environment.
- Support capital projects by providing design input, installation assistance, and technical leadership.
- Coordinate with Maintenance, Operations, EHS, R&D, and equipment vendors to execute improvements and resolve issues.
- Manage small to mid-scale projects, including CAR preparation, vendor selection, contractor oversight, and cost control.
- Maintain and update engineering documentation (SOPs, PMs, ECNs, BOMs, validations).
- Train and support production and maintenance teams on new equipment, processes, and safe work practices.
Experience you will need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent manufacturing experience.
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing/process engineering with strong on-the-floor involvement.
- Hands-on expertise in mechanical design, equipment modification, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with cam-driven machinery integrating pneumatic, servo, and PLC-based systems.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD (preferred); ability to create and modify technical drawings for tooling and fixtures.
- Strong understanding of maintenance principles and collaboration with maintenance teams.
- Experience managing multiple improvement and capital projects simultaneously.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Clear communicator able to present technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Comfortable working in a high-speed, production-focused environment.
