Position Overview: New Flyer is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineer specializing in Electrical Engineering. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the production processes related to electrical systems and components in our transit buses. You will collaborate with various teams to enhance manufacturing efficacy, ensure product quality, and support electrical engineering initiatives. Your expertise will drive continuous improvement in the manufacturing processes while maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes for electrical components within transit buses.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues in electrical systems.
- Implement best practices in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Create and maintain process documentation, including work instructions, standard operating procedures, and layouts.
- Evaluate and recommend improvements to current processes, tooling, and equipment.
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives related to electrical production defects.
- Support and participate in internal audits and compliance processes.
- Assist in training floor personnel on new processes and equipment.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Post secondary engineering education, technical training or a combination of education, skills, and experience.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing engineering role or electrical systems design is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of electrical manufacturing processes, standards, and best practices.
- Familiarity with CAD software and electrical schematic design tools is an asset.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while being Self-motivated.
