Manufacturing Engineer Apply
What would you change if you walked into a plant with no true flow, limited scheduling discipline, and capacity that’s about to be maxed out?Our client is looking for a hands-on Industrial Engineer to design, implement, and scale the operational backbone of a growing manufacturing operation.OverviewWe are hiring an Industrial Engineer to support a growing operation located 20–30 minutes north of Marietta and Alpharetta. This is a build-and-transform role, as the plant prepares for significant growth, with leadership projecting full capacity utilization over the next three years. Today, the operation lacks formal scheduling, standardized routings, and consistent process flow. This role will step in to help define how the plant should run, then implement it.You will be deeply embedded in the operation, mapping processes, redesigning flow, and driving measurable improvements in throughput, capacity, and efficiency. What You’ll Work OnDesign the SystemDevelop and implement process flow diagrams across key production areasBuild and standardize BOMs, routings, and work instructionsEstablish capacity models and production planning inputsOptimize Flow & LayoutRedesign plant layout to improve material flow and reduce wasteLead line balancing efforts across fabrication and assembly processesImprove material movement and handling across the operationDrive Measurable ImprovementConduct time studies and apply data to drive throughput gainsIdentify bottlenecks and implement incremental, sustainable improvementsLead Kaizen events and continuous improvement initiativesExecute & Influence ChangeLead change management efforts in a tenured workforce environmentWork directly with operators and supervisors to implement new processesOvercome resistance by demonstrating practical, real-world improvementsOwn Key ProjectsManage multiple CAPEX projects from concept through executionSupport 3–4 concurrent projects focused on capacity expansion and efficiencyWhat We’re Looking ForBachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering (Mechanical with strong IE experience also considered)5–10+ years of experience in a manufacturing environmentStrong experience with:Process mapping and flow designTime studies and standard work developmentCapacity planning and line balancingProven ability to implement change in operational environmentsExperience working in fabrication, machining, or similar industrial settingsProficiency with AutoCAD and/or SolidWorksComfortable working on the shop floor and being “in the middle of it”What Will Set You ApartFormal Industrial Engineering trainingExperience building systems in environments that lacked structureAbility to translate data into practical shop-floor executionStrong presence and credibility with long-tenured teamsExposure to growth or capacity expansion environments
