Job Summary:

The Manufacturing Engineer defines the production process flow and production line structure for design Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Operational Excellence for a program or site. This role optimizes operations by supporting production element mainly through Bill of Materials, Routers, and work instructions. This role also implements manufacturing resource usage for continuous improvement.

Summary of Duties:

1. Provide high level technical deliverables during the manufacturing (production) engineering phase such as production documentation, industrial validation process

2. Provide system level to design engineering to improve product design for ease of manufacturing, optimization of cost, weight reduction and time to manufacture product

3. In product design phase: perform complex high-level technical analysis that demonstrates production constraints and opportunities are recognized and addressed - evaluate the current state of industrial capacity and capability relative to program requirements - propose changes to program plans to ensure that production cost, quality and delivery objectives can be met.

4. Perform identification and justification of capital expense and infrastructure investments and oversee their implementation for a program or site.

5. Review highly complex 2D drawings and 3D models of components and systems for manufacturability.

6. Perform highly-complicated time studies, develop work breakdown structures for entire programs, develop detailed work instructions and collaborate in development of specifications

7. Develop, maintain, and report industrialization metrics in line with Cabin standard KPI's and communicate performance on a regular basis

8. Collaborate with, or lead, other engineering disciplines to provide costing and Bids and Proposals submitted to customers

9. Ensure that Lean principles are used to impact site production performance

10. Validate accurate and complete application of regulatory requirements, customer specifications and company specifications.

11. Apply highly-complex concepts of machining, assembly lines, BOM creation, and production line layout for a program or site

12. Be proficient with manufacturing procedures at a site.

13. Apply complex concepts of engineering drawings and 3D models relating to manufacturability.

14. Proficiency with assembly line layout and design, and composites manufacturing for a site or program.

15. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field.

Experience: Minimum 5 years related experience in highly regulated engineering design or production environment.with a minimum of 1 year of technical leadership experience.

Computer Skills:

Fluency with ERP systems

Advanced knowledge of SolidWorks, CATIA V5. SmarTeam is preferred.

Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Knowledge in Visio and Project is a Plus.

Good knowledge of Microsoft Teams

Other Skills:

Experience working at an aircraft or other aerospace OEM. Automotive industry experience is acceptable.

Deep knowledge of common materials and manufacturing processes used in the aerospace industry

Proven ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and models at a system level

Good knowledge and understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma, use of LEAN tools

Highly developed organization and communication skills

Ability to work well independently and cross-functionally without oversight.

Excellent communication, time-management, and problem-solving skills.

Strong knowledge of primary processes like CNC machining, Layup and Crush Core

Green Belt Certified is preferred.
