Role: Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Grand Rapids, MI (Onsite)

Responsibilities:

  • Design Manufacturing Processes: Develop processes, procedures, and layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, machining, and material handling.
  • Plant Layouts: Design efficient machine arrangements within plant facilities.
  • Operational Sequences: Specify procedures for tool and equipment fabrication impacting product performance.
  • Adapt Designs: Modify machine or equipment designs to fit factory conditions.
  • Inspection and Testing: Incorporate inspection and test requirements into production plans.
  • Quality Assurance: Inspect machinery and equipment performance, initiate corrective actions to ensure product quality.
  • Statistical Process Control: Develop and apply processes for statistical control.
  • Engineering Guidance: Provide design concept and specification guidance to engineering.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all processes and procedures comply with regulations.

Minimum Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of operations and process validation experience, or advanced degree with 3+ years of experience.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in medical product manufacturing and assembly operations techniques.
  • Knowledge in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies (A3, DMAIC training).
  • Ability to quickly learn and assimilate a wide range of information.
  • Experience with line layout, line balancing, and ergonomic analysis.
  • Excellent data analysis skills and proficiency with statistical tools in problem-solving.
  • Understanding and knowledge of overall business operations.
