Very well-established, yet rapidly growing, mechanical machined components manufacturer servicing the medical industry, has an excellent career opportunity for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer. This is a permanent, onsite position in Plainview, NY. Position Summary:The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and reviewing the procedures and equipment involved in the manufacturing process. This includes researching automation techniques, testing new systems for efficiency and planning factory layouts to optimize production. Lead or assist in the cost estimating process. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Evaluate manufacturing processes based on quality criteria, such as efficiency and speed.Provide cost estimations for new and existing projects.Create, evaluate, and implement manufacturing processes. Study production and machine requirements.Develop and test effective automated and manual systems.Design and install equipment.Implement manufacturing processes that result in high-quality products.Organize and manage manufacturing workflows and resources.Optimize facility layouts, production lines, machine operations and network performance.Resolve issues and delays in production.Find ways to reduce costs and maximize quality.Train staff in new and existing processesCollaborate with other engineers, contractors, and suppliers.Ensure that manufacturing procedures follow safety and environmental regulations.Upgrade systems and processes with recent technology.Qualifications: 5 years of previous experience as a manufacturing engineer in a similar machine shop environmentKnowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods and tool designFamiliarity with manufacturing equipment and quality assurance techniquesCommitment to health and safety standards and environmental regulationsWell-versed in relevant software (e.g., CAD, MS Office)Project management skillsBachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field
