Job Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer plays a critical role in supporting and enhancing elastomer manufacturing processes. This position partners closely with production, quality, safety, and engineering teams to ensure efficient operations, high product quality, and compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in elastomer manufacturing and thrives in a continuous improvement environment.


Job Description

  • Develop, implement, and optimize elastomer manufacturing processes, including compression molding, injection molding, extrusion, mixing, and curing
  • Analyze production data to identify inefficiencies and drive continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, and root-cause analysis methodologies
  • Create and maintain process documentation such as work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), control plans, and PFMEAs
  • Provide day-to-day technical support to production teams, troubleshooting equipment and process-related issues
  • Define, validate, and maintain process parameters to ensure product consistency and compliance with specifications
  • Support tooling design, trials, and qualification for elastomer components
  • Specify, validate, and maintain elastomer processing equipment including mixers, extruders, molding presses, and curing ovens
  • Lead or support capital equipment projects, including justification, procurement, installation, and validation
  • Identify and implement new technologies to improve process efficiency, material flow, curing performance, and product quality
  • Support safety initiatives by identifying risks associated with high-temperature processes, chemical handling, and press operations
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations related to elastomer materials and curing agents


Skills Required

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interpret production data and implement process improvements
  • Effective communication and collaboration across departments
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and compliance
  • Knowledge of ITAR regulations
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong experience as a Manufacturing Engineer within an elastomer or rubber manufacturing environment
  • Proven ability to support and optimize complex manufacturing processes
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams within production environments


Education

  • Highschool diploma or GED
