Position summary

The Manufacturing Engineer is an early-career role focused on learning and supporting day-to-day manufacturing engineering activities. This position helps improve production processes, supports work instruction creation, aids troubleshooting, and collaborates with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams.

This is a development-focused role ideal for new graduates who are eager to build a foundation in manufacturing operations, process improvement, and engineering documentation.


Key Responsibilities

Manufacturing Support & Learning

  • Receive direction from project managers and engineering leadership and translate guidance into accurate, timely work outputs.
  • Support the development, documentation, and improvement of manufacturing processes.
  • Assist with troubleshooting production issues and tracing problems back to root cause.
  • Write and maintain clear, detailed manufacturing steps and work instructions.

Production & Process Responsibilities

  • Collect data and support basic time studies, process mapping, or workflow evaluations.
  • Assist in implementing production changes and coordinating with operators and supervisors.
  • Help ensure manufacturing processes operate efficiently and within defined timelines.
  • Seek input from experienced team members to improve understanding of products, tooling, and manufacturing methods.

Communication & Documentation

  • Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
  • Respond to emails, requests, and engineering tasks in a timely manner.
  • Author and update documentation such as work instructions, standard operating procedures, and process notes.


Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related preferred).
  • Strong aptitude for:
  • Problem-solving and identifying root causes.
  • Managing tasks within given timelines.
  • Seeking input and collaborating with team members.
  • Writing clear and concise manufacturing steps.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to take direction and follow through.


Preferred

  • Internship or co-op experience in manufacturing, industrial engineering, or operations.
  • Exposure to manufacturing environments, production systems, or engineering documentation.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, or lean principles (a plus but not required).



Physical requirements & working conditions


  • Frequent walking, standing, or sitting for extended periods of time
  • May need to occasionally push, pull, or lift 25-50 lbs.
  • Travel does not exceed 25%.
