About the Role

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for working with a team to ensure that Precors Process and/or Final Assembly area is running efficiently. They determine the parts and tools needed to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specification. Ultimately, they are responsible for the development and design of manufacturing methods and continuous improvement of new and existing processes.


This Manufacturing Engineer reports directly to the Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor and the role works cross functionally to interface and support all Precor departments and locations. They are expected to work independently, and with others using technical judgment and overall knowledge of Precor's mission and strategies.


This position typically works 6am-4:30pm Monday-Thursday to support production hours.


Responsibilities

  • Understands and applies continuous improvement methods such as lean manufacturing and other process improvement strategies to enhance manufacturing quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Develops data driven processes that lead to reliable, repeatable, and safe manufacturing methods.
  • Understands and uses the philosophy and tools of lean manufacturing and design.
  • Serves as an engineering resource in teaching the use of these tools to others within Precor, including training production personnel in new or existing methods.

  • Uses and understands metrics to gage continuous improvement.
  • Troubleshoot production issues which may involve design, process, or materials.
  • Supports design and documentation of Idea to Customer (I2C) projects.
  • Supports sustainability efforts including Zero Waste Manufacturing.
  • Understands the importance of cost reduction activities, including supporting vendor efforts to reduce packaging waste, improve quality, manufacturability, and reduce cost.
  • Designs and documents fixes/changes to existing products for enhancing or amending previous designs.
  • Supports the Tooling group with design and development of tooling.
  • Researches, develops, and implements core-manufacturing technologies and\\\\\\\\or appropriate automation required by Precor to sustain or improve its competitive lead.

  • Effectively communicates information to co-workers, customers, and suppliers. Able to effectively communicate plans, projects, and capabilities to management including the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) at Precor.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant Process, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering experience.
  • Experience in DFA/DFM required.
  • Experience with industry standard CAD systems (SolidWorks preferred) for design and documentation.
  • Strong PC skills in MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.
  • Experience using standard test and measurement equipment to quantify manufacturing margins and problem solving.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with machine shop process desired.
  • Fundamental understanding and experience with Lean and Six Sigma desired.
  • Experience with paint (wet or powder) and welding desired.
  • Experience with steel fabrication desired.
  • Experience with PLC control systems desired.
  • Experience with machine shop process desired.
  • Experience with project management desired.


Pay Range: $90,000 to $105,000

The pay range represents the low and high end of the anticipated pay range for this position based at our Woodinville, WA headquarters. The actual pay offered for this position will depend on numerous factors including individual performance, business objectives, and if the location for the job changes.
