You’ll be on the factory floor, helping us integrate groundbreaking technologies into our daily work. Based at our Ames, Iowa site, you will play a key role in making our manufacturing processes smarter, safer, and more efficient. You’ll have the unique opportunity to see your ideas directly impact our assembly lines, improving everything from workflow and design to inventory management. This is more than an internship; it’s a hands‑on experience where you’ll work alongside our expert Process and Manufacturing Engineers. You will gain invaluable skills by tackling real‑world challenges and contributing to the engine that drives Danfoss forward. What You’ll Be Doing Drive the evolution of our factory by designing and improving assembly line layouts for better workflow and efficiency. Use data analysis, including time studies and material flow tracking, to uncover key insights and make our processes smarter and leaner. Boost production quality and safety by implementing error‑proofing (Poka‑Yoke) systems and enhancing ergonomics for our teams. Help launch the future of manufacturing by supporting the integration of advanced technologies like AGVs and advanced vision systems. Collaborate with diverse teams, from supply chain to management, to streamline inventory and implement robust manufacturing controls. What We’re Looking For You are currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Agricultural Engineering. You are a natural collaborator, able to communicate and work effectively with everyone from the shop floor to the management team. You are a hands‑on problem‑solver, comfortable using basic tools and eager to learn about new manufacturing equipment and processes. Experience with CAD, simulation, PLC, or C++ is a plus, but your curiosity and drive to learn are what matter most. You are available to work a flexible 10‑20 hours per week during the semester and full‑time during the summer at our Ames, Iowa location. Ready to build the future of manufacturing and launch your engineering career? Apply now to start your journey with Danfoss. What You’ll Get From Us We promote from within and support your learning with mentoring, training, and access to global opportunities. You’ll have flexibility, autonomy, and support to do your best work while maintaining a healthy work‑life balance. Your well‑being matters to us. We strive to create an inclusive work environment where people of all backgrounds are respected, and valued for who they are. You’ll receive benefits like 13th salary, annual bonus, paid vacation, pension plans, personal insurance, and more. These vary by country and contract, but they’re worth asking about—we think they’re pretty great. Ready to Make a Difference? If this role excites you, we’d love to hear from you! Apply now to start the conversation and learn more about where your career can go with us.
