Manufacturing Engineering Lead
Wayland, MI | 1st Shift | Full-Time, Exempt

Recco Products, a leader in aerospace-quality manufacturing and precision filtration components, is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineering Lead to design, improve, and optimize production processes within our AS9100-regulated environment.

In this role, you’ll direct new product development, support customer-facing engineering activities, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. This position plays a key role in supporting and enhancing our manual metal forming and welding processes while providing technical expertise and practical problem-solving on the production floor.

This role is ideal for an experienced manufacturing engineer ready to step into team leadership while remaining technically engaged.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interface with customer engineering teams to evaluate product design changes, ensuring manufacturability, process efficiency, and product quality.
  • Lead CI initiatives focused on cost reduction, quality enhancement, and process efficiency.
  • Interpret and ensure engineering compliance with internal and customer drawings, specifications, and applicable AS9100 requirements, serving as the technical escalation point for engineering-related decisions.
  • Lead creation and control of manufacturing documentation to ensure compliant, repeatable, and efficient production processes.
  • Provide hands-on engineering support to manual stamping and welding operations.
  • Analyze complex technical issues, assess risk, and make sound engineering and business decisions.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship required, no employment sponsorship available due to ITAR restrictions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • 5+ years’ experience in aerospace, defense, or other regulated manufacturing environment (AS9100, IATF, ISO 13485, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of precision metal manufacturing processes.
  • Experience supporting customer engineering changes and technical discussions.
