The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing and improving a wide range of production processes. This role requires a variety of technical engineering skills ranging from mechanical designs to manufacturing automation systems, integration, and process controls. This position will look to introduce new manufacturing processes to improve safety, design, and test all aspects of mechanical equipment and machinery.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Designs products such as machines, instruments, controls, or robots.
- Works with production staff and engineers design to improve production processes, productivity and improve safety.
- Ability to plan and manage projects while engaging with stakeholders.
- Familiarize with manufacturing equipment and provide technical support
- Uses computer-assisted design (CAD) software to create preliminary and detailed drawings of the machines, controls, and processes.
- Apply systematic and analytic method to problem solving to make evidence based technical decisions that are safe, functional, cost effective and validated.
- Support automation projects through engineering process design during development, installation and provide training and documentation.
- Builds models and prototypes of the product and tests the design.
- Studies the test data and makes comparisons with similar designs.
- Develops control systems and monitors production.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Ability to redesign existing products to enhance functionality or reduce costs.
Qualifications & Experience required:
- Knowledge in mechanical design including machinery tooling designs
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent mechanical and technical skills.
- Proficient with computer-assisted design (CAD) software and 3D Modeling.
- Knowledge of systematic engineering design process to meet requirements.
- Experience working in ISO 9001 Manufacturing facility
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Five years of related experience preferred.
