Position Overview:
As a Manufacturing Engineering Technician, you will be an integral part of our manufacturing operations team. You will play a crucial role in developing, implementing, and improving production processes to enhance productivity and product quality. You will work closely with engineers and operators to troubleshoot challenges and implement solutions that drive operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design, installation, and optimization of manufacturing systems and processes.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues encountered during production to ensure minimal downtime.
- Collect and analyze data related to production metrics and performance.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
- Support new product introductions by establishing detailed manufacturing procedures.
- Conduct experiments and collaborate with suppliers to enhance tooling and fixtures.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental policies.
- Document processes, improvements, and equipment maintenance accurately.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to leverage best practices and knowledge sharing.
- Provide training to production staff on new processes and operational standards.
- Undertake other related tasks as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Technical diploma or degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing setting with a focus on engineering support.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
- Proficiency in CAD software and MS Office applications.
- Excellent communication skills and a strong team player.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles is beneficial.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Experience with fibre-reinforced plastics (FRP) is an advantage.
