Job DescriptionJob DescriptionScott Manufacturing Solutions, Inc. is looking for a skilled Media Blaster who will work under close supervision, operate specialized tools and machinery that fire high-powered jets of sand at metal and other similarly hard surfaces, and assist in other departments as needed.Compensation:$17 - $18 hourlyResponsibilities:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily; other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.Ensure proper setup of blasting equipment and media for each jobPrepare surfaces on the product before blastingAbrades surfaces of metal objects using abrasive blasting equipmentShovels or pours abrasives, such as sand, into a machine hopperMaintains safe work conditions by following guidelines and procedures for handling all related equipmentClean the machine, tooling, and work area at the end of each shiftAbility to wear full-body PPE, including blast helmetChecks grinding equipment for safe operationUses grinding equipment to round cornersTighten edges and smooth surfaces for cabinet doors, walls, frames, and small partsAssists in performing sheet metal fabrication workOperates drill press to ream tubesOperates hand drill to ream door handlesMake holes in sheet metalCleans and maintains work areaQualifications:Written Communication Able to read and interpret written informationOrganizational Support Follows policies and proceduresEthics Treat people with respectDependability Follows instructions, and responds to management directionInitiative Asks and offers help when neededSafety and Security Observe safety and security proceduresA Statement From Scott Manufacturing Solutions Human Assets DepartmentScott Manufacturing Solutions has partnered with E-Verify to verify work eligibility in the United States.
