We are working with a stable and growing custom metal product manufacturer to hire a Manufacturing Operations Specialist to work onsite in Conklin, NY. This role is ideal for a hands-on operations professional with strong project management skills who thrives in both analytical and production environments. Responsibilities You will work closely with Operations leadership, including the COO, to improve hiring, training, manufacturing processes, logistics systems, and overall plant performance. This position has direct ownership of key processes and supports plant-wide operational initiatives that drive measurable results. Manage shipping and packaging team members, with focus on daily LTL shipments Partner with the COO to implement plant-wide programs (safety, attendance, training, operations initiatives) Coordinate recruiting, screening, onboarding, and training tracking for production staff Lead and support operations projects aligned with the annual Manufacturing Plan, including: Critical parts inventory coordination Area upgrades and process improvements 5S and Kaizen events Support production planning functions and provide backup coverage for critical shop roles Audit, edit, and create facility procedures and technical documentation Analyze operational performance metrics using Excel, Google Sheets, and ERP data Support budget targets, spending controls, and area utilization goals Troubleshoot production issues; identify root causes and implement corrective actions Maintain and improve operational procedures and production documentation Support ERP-driven production planning, job routing, and data mining initiatives Collaborate cross-functionally with production, maintenance, engineering, and scheduling teams Drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement efforts Qualifications 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing, operations, or process improvement Experience in metalworking or high-mix, low-volume manufacturing preferred Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Proficiency with ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, and data analysis tools Experience with quality control, budgeting, and production costing Strong technical writing and documentation skills #J-18808-Ljbffr
