Title: Packaging Operator Lv1
Location: FRANKLINTON, LA, 70438
Duration: 6 Months Contract
Mode of Interview: In-person
Pay rate: $15/hr.
Schedule: Monday - Friday -Must be able to work rotating days 1 week they will work the day shift and then the next week the night shift (4 AM - 4 PM) and nights (4:00 PM - 4:00 AM) overtime available but not always guaranteed.
Description:
  • Follow all plant safety procedures.
  • Complete required trainings in a timely manner and actively participate in safety program, including submitting near misses and observations.
  • Report any unsafe act or condition to a supervisor.
  • Obtain forklift license and operate the forklift in a safe manner
  • Knowledgeable and proficient at operating the packaging control panel(s).
  • Operation of packaging equipment.
  • Monitor bag weights on scale.
  • Perform quality checks in a timely manner per quality procedures. Insuring product weight is maintained and product meets specifications
  • Effectively move product, opening bin gates and switching diverters.
  • Perform change over tasks, minimizing start-up and change-over times working as efficiently as possible.
  • Set up line precisely.
  • This would include date code, weight, conveyor, glue, sewing and heat seal process.
  • Making sewing machine adjustments
  • Adjusting the stacking robot for different size bags
  • Making sure the cleaner screens are set up correctly
  • Insure all products are packaged accurately.
  • Bags are sewn fully
  • Product in correct bag, tags and stickers applied as necessary.
  • Make sure correct tag/ label is being used and info is correct (lot, product, size)
  • Inspect the product to guarantee all required quality standards are met. This would include correct product, color, size, density and mixed product.
  • Obtain samples as required by Quality Assurance.
  • Notify Team Leader of progress and any problems.
  • Ability to move pallets of product and stack safely into pallet racking for storage
  • Keeping area and equipment clean, including packing area, warehouse and bag storage warehouse
  • Repalletizing/disposal of distressed product.
  • Provide accurate production data and complete shift paperwork
  • Transfer responsibilities from shift to shift.
  • Minor maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment
  • Other duties as assigned by management will be required.
  • Must have their own Steel toe boots
