Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Technician to support the development of complex medical device and robotic systems. The role focuses on hands-on mechanical and electrical assembly, prototyping, testing, troubleshooting, and supporting the transfer of R&D designs into manufacturing within a regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Support engineering development activities including design, fabrication, assembly, modification, and testing of electro-mechanical medical devices
Build, assemble, and test R&D prototype systems throughout the product development lifecycle
Perform mechanical, electrical, and system-level troubleshooting; identify root cause and corrective actions
Support reliability, verification, and validation (V&V) testing activities
Assist with test method, test fixture, and tooling development for R&D and experimental testing
Support transfer of development instruments to manufacturing and operations teams
Collect and document test data; contribute to test reports, assembly procedures, and troubleshooting guides
Follow engineering documentation, procedures, protocols, and quality system requirements
Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Regulatory, Project Management, and Manufacturing teams
Required Qualifications:
Associate degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical preferred) or equivalent hands-on experience
5 7+ years of experience in mechanical, electrical, or electro-mechanical assembly, fabrication, machining, harness build, or system-level integration
Proven experience in R&D environments, preferably fast-paced product development settings
Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, tolerances, and electrical schematics
Proficiency with hand tools, precision measurement equipment, soldering, and electrical/mechanical test equipment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
High attention to detail and ability to work independently and multitask
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in Class II or Class III medical devices
Machine shop experience
Knowledge of CAD tools
Experience with 3D printing and post-processing
Knowledge of FDA QSR, ISO Quality Systems, GMP, and GLP
Work Environment:
Onsite role in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary engineering environment
