Location: Rosharon, Texas 77583

Duration: 12 Months (Possible extension)
Pay Rate: $20 - $22 per hour
Shift: Monday - Friday | 3:30 PM Midnight

Position Summary

The Manufacturing Technician is responsible for operating semi-automated production equipment in a shaped charge (explosives) manufacturing environment. This role involves installing mechanical tooling, operating Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), packaging explosive materials, and maintaining production efficiency and safety standards. The position requires strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working in a fast-paced, hazardous materials environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs) to run production bays.
  • Install mechanical tooling using hand tools (Allen wrenches, torque wrenches, etc.).
  • Work in a semi-automated manufacturing environment.
  • Operate hydraulic presses, robotic systems, and conveyor systems (operation only, no maintenance).
  • Handle and package shaped charges (explosives).
  • Utilize job packets, routings, work orders, wire lists, quality travelers, and bills of material.
  • Maintain and inspect production tools and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot product, process, or program defects and perform necessary repairs.
  • Follow all productivity, quality, and safety standards.

Required Skills & Experience

  1. Experience using HMIs or touchscreen production systems.
  2. Mechanical aptitude and proficiency with basic hand tools.
  3. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of electronics, hydraulics, and/or mechanical assemblies.
  • Experience operating automated machinery.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively.
  • Comfortable working around hazardous materials.
  • Not suitable for candidates who prefer slower-paced, task-based work environments.

Work Environment

  • Fast-paced, hands-on production environment.
  • Exposure to powdered explosives.
  • Full PPE and safety training provided.
  • Must be comfortable working in a hazardous materials setting.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform hands-on mechanical work.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working around industrial equipment and hazardous materials.

Security & Compliance

  • Must be eligible to obtain BATFE Level 4 Clearance (Employee Possessor of Explosives).
