Manufacturing Technician Apply
To describe the manufacturing technician position duties and responsibilities. Essential Functions: Produce float glass in accordance with all SOP’s and customer specifications. Cut, pack, and store stoce and blocksize glass per SOP’s. Ensure produced parts meet customer specifications. Load/Unload product and/or material and supplies as required and specified. Encapsulate and/or assemble components to glass. Fabricate parts as specified in SOPs to meet customer requirements. Pack finished product according to customer requirements. Respond to process emergencies as required. Adhere to housekeeping standards. Participate in all audits: SOP Audits, Safety Audits, internal audit, cross facility, management and third-party registration audits. (These are not an all-inclusive list, but the most common examples). Participate in required training and successfully complete required assessments or testing to verify understanding and knowledge. Team Members are responsible for adhering to work standardization and associated training requirements. SPC data collection as required. Required to assist in training of others. Adhere to 5S and housekeeping standards and responsible for clean-up of work areas upon completion of tasks. Other duties as assigned. Such as training other operators once qualified on specific tasks. Physical Requirements: This position requires the ability to work a 12-hour schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. The role involves prolonged periods of standing and walking, often exceeding 12 hours per day. Candidates must be able to climb stairs, crouch, kneel, and maintain balance in various working environments. The role will require the use of various PPE items including but not limited to safety glasses, hi-vis clothing, respiratory, etc. The position also requires the ability to frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift items over 50 pounds. Occasionally exposed to plant environment including noise, dust, dirt and vibrations, extreme climate changes. Availability to work for extended periods during emergency repair work. A successful candidate must be physically capable of performing these tasks safely and consistently in a manufacturing setting. Qualifications Required: High School Diploma or GED Must be dependable, self-motivated and have an excellent attendance record. Must be willing to accept responsibility. Must be innovative and pro‑active. Within the scope of a job assignment, must be willing to do whatever is necessary to accomplish the assigned task. Communications Skills: Must be able to communicate information to other crews and to other employees as needed. Must be able to recognize and to communicate problems that might arise during the performance of their duties.
