Job Title: Market Development Manager
Location: Lakeland, FL
Pay: $125K–$150K + commission
Schedule: 1st shift, Monday–Friday
Job Summary:
The Market Development Manager plays a key role in driving sales growth by developing and executing go-to-market strategies in industrial markets. This role focuses on expanding the customer base, increasing market share, and aligning customer needs with the company’s service capabilities. You'll lead a team to pursue new opportunities, deepen client relationships, and deliver profitable results through strategic planning and execution.
Must have experience working in power plants, energy production, or utility-scale electricity operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Define a vertical market segment (go-to-market approach) as it relates to an industrial user’s maintenance, reconstruction, or new construction needs.
Develop a comprehensive business plan and corresponding budget that delivers profitable sales growth in your Industrial Market Segment.
Generate demand for services and products within your assigned industrial market segment.
Make repetitive and frequent contact with existing and future customers to present how we can meet their needs.
Develop and execute a plan that drives constant contact with existing customers and key prospects at multiple levels throughout an organization.
Pursue and capture profitable revenue opportunities.
Develop and maintain deep-rooted relationships at multiple levels within a customer organization.
Research various industrial, manufacturing, and processing industries to identify potential customers and apply findings in a strategic and actionable manner.
Produce consistent and accurate sales and forecasting reports to ensure organizational preparedness.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree preferred or 10+ years of industry experience in lieu of a degree.
Experience:
Prior sales, marketing, or market segment leadership experience is a plus.
Power Generation experience is required. Must have experience working in power plants, energy production, or utility-scale electricity operations.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Exceptional work ethic and drive to succeed.
Execution and results mindset.
General knowledge of heavy industrial markets is preferred.
Intermediate computer skills required in Microsoft Office.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, exciting, and demanding environment.
Work Location & Travel:
Travel to client and customer sites is required.
Days and hours of work may vary at times to include some evenings and weekends.
Work Environment:
Corporate office environment.

Must be able to pass a post-offer/pre-placement drug screen.
Must submit to a post-offer/pre-employment background check.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to communicate clearly through speaking, listening, and writing.
- Requires strong problem-solving and reasoning abilities, including deductive and inductive thinking.
- Must have close-range vision and the ability to recognize and address potential issues.
- Ability to travel to client sites is required, and flexibility for occasional evening or weekend work may be necessary.
- The role also requires working in a standard office environment and passing a post-offer drug screen, physical, and background check.
