Job Summary
The Master Scheduler leads the development, coordination, and execution of the enterprise-wide production schedule across all product lines. Operating as the central authority for planning and capacity alignment, this role ensures that all manufactured and purchased components are available to support on‐time, in‐full delivery performance. The Master Scheduler partners closely with Customer Service, Operations, Purchasing, and Leadership to balance customer demand, production capabilities, and material availability while driving efficiency, throughput, and schedule adherence.
Required Competencies & Qualifications
· 4–5 years of experience in production planning, master scheduling, or manufacturing operations, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
· Strong working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and scheduling tools; experience with Macola or SAP preferred.
· Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple competing demands.
· Strong analytical and industrial math skills.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
· Proven ability to collaborate cross‐functionally and influence decision‐making.
Primary Responsibilities
· Own and maintain the master production schedule across fabrication, machining, welding, finishing, and assembly operations, ensuring alignment with customer demand and capacity constraints.
· Analyze and sequence work orders based on due dates, machine and labor capacity, material readiness, and strategic priorities.
· Monitor schedule execution and ensure production orders are completed in accordance with MRP requirements and customer commitments.
· Identify and communicate constraints—including material shortages, capacity bottlenecks, and labor limitations—to leadership and key stakeholders.
· Manage daily production order creation, exception handling, and schedule adjustments (move-ins, move-outs, overstock management).
· Coordinate with Purchasing to expedite critical materials and ensure timely availability of manufactured and purchased components.
· Conduct forward-looking capacity planning using customer forecasts, historical trends, and operational inputs to anticipate future requirements.
· Continuously optimize the schedule to improve throughput, reduce lead times, and enhance on-time delivery performance.
· Serve as the primary liaison between Production and Customer Service, ensuring clear communication of priorities, risks, and changes.
· Track and report key scheduling metrics, including schedule attainment and on-time delivery, and drive improvement initiatives.
· Participate actively in cross-functional meetings and planning sessions.
· Complete special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned.
· Maintain compliance with all safety policies, work rules, and housekeeping standards.
Organizational Relationships
· Accountable for accuracy, quality, and integrity of the master schedule.
· Collaborates closely with Production, Customer Service, Purchasing, Engineering, and Leadership to ensure alignment and readiness.
· Supports company Quality and Safety policies by adhering to all relevant procedures and standards.
· Performs additional duties as required to support organizational goals.
