Summary:
-
Senior Materials and Processes (M&P) Engineer specializing in composite and bonded airframe design and support.
-
Expertise includes material qualification, fabrication, bonding, repair techniques, NDT, finishing, certification, statistical analysis, project management, and MRB actions.
-
Develop, interpret, and apply M&P specifications.
-
Review and approve engineering drawings for M&P requirements.
-
Oversee composite fabrication and bonding processes, including process development and quality control.
-
Create FAA material qualification test plans and reports.
-
Conduct statistical analysis for design allowables and material equivalency.
-
Support MRB and Service Center actions for M&P discrepancies.
-
Collaborate with suppliers, test houses, procurement, and service teams.
-
Travel as needed to address M&P issues.
Required Skills:
-
BS or MS in Mechanical, Chemical, or Materials Engineering.
-
8+ years in engineering, including 5+ years in M&P.

Proficient in technical writing for specifications, test plans, and reports.

Skilled in statistical analysis and generating design allowables.
-
Familiar with CATIA V5 for 3D model interrogation and applying M&P requirements on composite structures.

Knowledge of FAA regulations for composites during certification and production.

Experience with NDT, mechanical testing, and physical testing of composites.

Strong communication, mentoring, and leadership capabilities.
-
Proficiency in MS Office, CMH-STATS, HYTEQ, TeamCenter, and SAP.
Desired Skills:
-
Knowledge of metallics, sealants, finishes, and paints.

Experience in mentoring less experienced engineers and technicians.
-
FAA Certification Branch experience is a plus.
-
FAA DER designation (non-metallic/metallic M&P) or prior MRB authority is highly desirable.
