Premier Placements is currently interviewing for a Material Handling Superintendent to join an established, growing company in Reidsville, NC with a primary focus on employee engagement, development, and safety. As the Material Handling Superintendent, you will direct all aspects of the logistics department including receiving raw materials, finished inventory control, and production scheduling. Work Schedule: Monday Friday 8:00 am 5:00 pm (flexibility to work past set schedule as needed)
Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 plus yearly bonus incentive
Responsibilities:
- Manage logistics for maximum efficiency by actively coordinating with all areas involved in the process. This includes coordinating raw ingredient receivables with the transportation clerk and working closely with the poultry production scheduling team to develop the most effective schedules possible for maximizing efficiency. Additionally, you are responsible for plant scheduling of finished products and goods to ensure correct inventory levels. It is also your duty to maintain and enforce all biosecurity requirements related to raw materials and finished products.
- Communicate openly and promptly, addressing issues with complete confidentiality.
- Ensure that all employees within the logistics department are trained and fully understand their responsibilities. Manage all employees to consistently understand the fundamentals of staffing expectations, absenteeism, attendance issues, overtime, disciplinary action, and other administrative duties that managers are responsible for executing efficiently.
- Responsible for ensuring that all employees understand and comply with customer specifications compliance, bio-security law, and all USDA-regulated requirements.
- Oversee all logistics staff to ensure that shipping schedules for products are met and exceeded. This includes effectively utilizing in-house storage areas to maximize the storage of finished products, dry ingredients, and packaging materials, ensuring consistent operations for further processing daily. Manage and strategically plan the plant's storage capacity to optimize the company's profitability by enhancing scheduling efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working in the food industry logistics, supervision, or demonstrated comparable abilities.
