Senior Technical Recruiter at Aegis Worldwide Aegis Worldwide Supply Chain Manager Wytheville, VA We are seeking a skilled and results-oriented Supply Chain Manager to oversee and optimize our purchasing, materials management, and production planning operations. This role is ideal for someone with a solid background in plastics manufacturing, particularly in purchasing resin and managing production schedules within a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be able to navigate the complexities of supply chain management while working independently, as there is no direct team under this role. Most importantly we are seeking a leader who possesses strong leadership and people management skills. Key Responsibilities: Purchasing & Procurement: Manage the end-to-end purchasing process, with a focus on sourcing and purchasing resin and raw materials needed for production. Negotiate with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing, timely deliveries, and high-quality materials. Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors in the plastics manufacturing industry. Ensure optimal inventory levels are maintained to meet production demands while minimizing overstock or stockouts. Track and manage the flow of materials and components, ensuring their timely arrival for production schedules. Coordinate with suppliers to ensure accurate delivery timelines and address any supply chain disruptions quickly. Production Planning: Develop and maintain detailed production schedules, ensuring alignment with customer demands and manufacturing capacity. Collaborate with production teams to adjust schedules as needed to accommodate production changes, delays, or unforeseen issues. Monitor production performance and materials availability to identify and address potential supply chain bottlenecks. Process Optimization & Cost Control: Identify opportunities for process improvements within the supply chain to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and streamline workflows. Maintain and update production planning systems, ensuring accurate and timely data entry. Develop strategies for cost savings without sacrificing quality or delivery times. Evaluate and manage suppliers to ensure materials meet the company’s quality standards and production timelines. Resolve any issues or disputes with suppliers promptly, ensuring minimal impact on the production schedule. Stay updated on market trends, material costs, and supply chain disruptions to make informed purchasing and planning decisions. Qualifications & Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain management, with a focus on purchasing, materials management, and production planning within a plastics manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of resin procurement, production scheduling, and materials flow in a manufacturing setting. Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment. Experience in independent decision-making and problem-solving without direct reports or team members. Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical abilities and proficiency with ERP systems and production planning tools. Ability to thrive in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment and adapt to changing priorities.
