Mathematics Teacher, Algebra and Geometry -- Lordstown Local Schools JobID: 4755 Position Type: High School Teaching/ Integrated Mathematics 7-12 Date Posted: 1/5/2026 Location: Lordstown Local Schools Closing Date: Until Filled Postion Mathematics Teacher Position Summary Lordstown High School is seeking a highly qualified and student-centered Mathematics Teacher to teach Algebra and Geometry. The successful candidate will deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction while fostering a positive learning environment that supports student growth, engagement, and achievement. Key Responsibilities Teach Algebra and Geometry using Ohio Learning Standards (or applicable state standards). Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the diverse needs of learners. Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and guide instruction. Differentiate instruction and provide appropriate interventions and extensions. Integrate instructional technology and data-driven practices into daily instruction. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and grades. Establish a positive classroom culture focused on high expectations and mutual respect. Collaborate with colleagues, intervention teams, and support staff. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and administrators. Participate in professional development, team meetings, and school initiatives. Qualifications Valid State of Ohio teaching license (or ability to obtain) in Mathematics (Grades 7–12 or appropriate licensure). Strong content knowledge in Algebra and Geometry. Ability to engage students with varying skill levels and learning needs. Strong classroom management and organizational skills. Commitment to continuous professional growth and collaboration. Preferred Qualifications Experience teaching Algebra and/or Geometry at the secondary level. Familiarity with NWEA MAP, state assessments, or similar data tools. Experience with intervention strategies, co-teaching, or inclusive practices.
