MCCJ VISTA Youth Engagement Coordinator Apply
Youth in the greater Miami-Dade region are in need of opportunities to develop their understanding of self, belonging, and transformational soft skills for their future life and career success. Empowering Miami-Dade youth is crucial for their future success. The goal is to ensure MCCJ is at the epicenter of not only breaking the cycle of poverty in Miami-Dade, but building trust, bridging differences, and fostering unity within our diverse community. This VISTA project will elevate MCCJs capacity to expand outreach (increase participation) and effectiveness of MCCJ's mission to promote diversity and build an inclusive community. This project will specifically develop and implement programs, processes, and strategic partnerships alongside MCCJs Senior Adviser to strengthen MCCJ's capacity to serve youth, families, and community partners. This project will take place the duration of the summer of 2024 and through May 2025.
Member Duties : To ensure success, the member will undertake the following key steps: Draft a comprehensive Camp MetroTown programming plan, incorporating insights gained from discussions with staff and community partners. Share the preliminary plan for feedback and refinement. Formulate an inclusive Camp MetroTown engagement plan, strategically designed to attract both community leaders and youth to actively participate in the event and associated activities. Finalize the youth programming and engagement plan for Camp MetroTown, ensuring alignment with MCCJ's mission and community values. Convene the Camp MetroTown team to review and discuss the finalized plan, initiating the implementation phase for the various planned activities. Implement pre/post surveys to evaluate program effectiveness and assess how well Camp MetroTown meets the needs of its participants. Analyze survey data to extract valuable insights.
