We anticipate keeping this recruitment open for three (3) weeks, but may close this recruitment early if a sufficient number of candidates are received.What is expected of an MCSO Records Technician (Please note, these duties will vary depending on work location):Timely and accurate entry, retrieval, confirmation and interpretation of court orders, warrants and teletypes.Provide information to the public, other criminal justice agencies and other employees by radio, phone and in person.Enter, confirm, and manage records in local and nationwide computer systems, and more.Code and enter files to be retrieved upon request.Adhere to policies and procedures.Able to work with multiple databases simultaneously.Provide support services to the Transit Police and the Cities of Fairview, Maywood Park, Troutdale, and Wood Village and all of their community members.Examples include arrest warrants, protection orders, and stolen vehicles/property.Process public records requests and Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests.Electronically process MCSO law enforcement reports to include forwarding cases to the District Attorney's Office for prosecution.Work inside a jail facility or in a secure law enforcement station.Prepare statistical and monthly billing reports, as well as narrative incident reports.The successful candidate will:Possess critical thinking/problem solving skills.Be able to prioritize work duties and adjust the priorities as dictated by the workflow.Have accurate data entry skills by touch.Possess effective verbal and written communication skills.Be able to work evening, night and day shifts, weekends and holidays.Function effectively under pressure and manage a high volume of work.Be able to multi-task and handle interruptions to work flow.Be capable of learning and applying knowledge quickly and consistently.Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.Professionally interact with the public under a wide range of circumstances as a representative of the Sheriff of Multnomah County.Please note: Working in the records units will require face-to-face contact with adults in custody (AIC).
