Overview

We are seeking a Mechanical Assembly Specialist to build complex mechanical assemblies used in the tooling and automation industry. In this role, you’ll assemble high-mix, low-volume equipment—machines and tooling systems that other factories use to make the products people use every day.

This is a job shop environment, not a repetitive assembly line. You’ll work from blueprints and build documentation, assemble a wide variety of components, and bring a strong mechanical mindset to solving fit, function, alignment, and build-quality challenges. We’re particularly interested in hands-on builders who bring energy and tempo to the work—people who enjoy learning, working with a team, and taking pride in assembling things the right way.

Profiles encouraged to apply include: experienced manufacturing assemblers, automotive mechanics (especially engine/repair backgrounds), HVAC technicians, industrial maintenance techs, millwrights, fabricators, and other mechanically minded “tinkerers” who enjoy building and troubleshooting complicated mechanical systems.

Compensation

  • $21 - $26 / hr

Shift

  • 1st shift
  • Monday - Thursday
  • 6:00am-4:30pm

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, vision
  • 401(k) with match
  • PTO

Requirements

  • Assemble Complex Mechanical Systems – Build detailed mechanical assemblies consisting of machined parts, welded components, shafts, pins, fasteners, and subassemblies to print and standard work.
  • Work From Blueprints and Build Documentation – Interpret drawings, tolerances, and work instructions to ensure correct fit, alignment, and function across varied builds.
  • Install Pneumatic Components and Air Lines – Assemble pneumatic actuators, route and connect air lines, and ensure components are installed cleanly, safely, and to specification.
  • Use a Wide Range of Hand and Power Tools – Operate common shop tools and equipment to perform advanced mechanical assembly and adjustments in a high-variety environment.
  • Perform Precision Fit-Up and Alignment – Execute careful fitting, spacing, and alignment of parts and mechanisms; adjust as needed to achieve required specifications.
  • Troubleshoot Build Issues and Escalate Smartly – Identify assembly constraints or quality concerns early, propose practical fixes, and communicate effectively with leads and teammates.
  • Execute In-Process Quality Checks – Perform required inspections, verify critical dimensions, and document measurements to support traceability and quality standards.
  • Maintain Tooling and Work Area Readiness – Care for tooling, fixtures, and measuring devices; keep workstations organized and safe using 5S principles.
  • Complete Production Documentation – Accurately complete required paperwork and system data entry for builds, inspections, and traceability.
  • Model Professional Shop Behavior – Demonstrate a positive, team-oriented attitude that strengthens culture, accountability, and execution tempo.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with the ability to assemble, adjust, and troubleshoot mechanical systems
  • Ability to read and work from blueprints and build instructions
  • Experience using hand tools and power tools in a mechanical, manufacturing, or repair environment

Preferred Skills

  • 3+ years of manufacturing assembly experience (or equivalent mechanical experience in repair/trades)
  • Backgrounds such as automotive mechanic, HVAC technician, industrial maintenance, millwright, fabrication, or similar hands-on mechanical work
  • Technical degree, certification, or apprenticeship training
  • Comfort with basic computer tools for documentation (e.g., data entry, work instructions)

The Ideal Candidate

  • Mechanical Builder Mindset – You enjoy complex assemblies, take pride in fit and function, and bring a “figure it out” approach to every build.
  • Blueprint-Driven Assembler – You can translate drawings into clean, accurate assemblies and catch issues before they become rework.
  • High-Tempo Team Contributor – You bring energy to the floor, communicate clearly, and enjoy building alongside others in a fast-moving job shop.
  • Hands-On Problem Solver – You’re comfortable making practical adjustments, using the right tools, and escalating effectively when something doesn’t match the print.
