If so, this could be an excellent opportunity.We’re supporting a specialist engineering and manufacturing business operating in the aerospace sector. This role sits within a technical team focused on delivering high-integrity engineered products from initial customer specification through to manufacture and installation.What’s the role all about?As a Design Engineer, you’ll be responsible for all aspects of product design — from interpreting customer requirements through to producing detailed 3D models, drawings and technical documentation ready for manufacture.This is a varied role where you’ll balance technical design work with customer interaction and cross-functional collaboration.You’ll be responsible for:Analysing customer and sales requirementsProducing 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawingsPreparing technical specifications and reportsPerforming detailed design calculations to ensure performance and complianceApplying Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Value Engineering principlesConducting design reviews throughout the project lifecycleEnsuring integrity of design and performance specificationsProviding technical support to Sales teams and customersCollaborating with Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing and Planning teamsLiaising with subcontractors where requiredThis role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining theory, practical engineering and customer-facing support.What you’ll need:To succeed as a Design Engineer, you’ll bring:Degree or HNC (minimum) in Mechanical EngineeringMinimum 2 years’ relevant mechanical engineering experienceStrong knowledge of fluid mechanics and pressure systemsCompetence using 3D CAD software (preferably Autodesk Inventor)Experience producing technical reports and engineering documentationStrong communication skills across technical and commercial teamsTechnical tools you’ll use:Autodesk InventorOffice 365MS ProjectTK Solver / MathCADAbout youYou’re methodical, detail-driven and focused on delivering high-quality engineering work.
