ROLE – Mechanical Design Engineer SALARY - £28,000-£30,000, dependent on experience TYPE – Permanent LOCATION – Bristol My client designs and manufactures bespoke products for Drainage solutions. They are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in the Bristol area on a permanent basis. The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:At least 2 years of experience in a similar Mechanical Design Engineering positionExperienced with machinery design, hydraulics, sheet metal and precision componentsStrong 3D CAD skills – ideally Inventor Strong practical skills – hand calculations, verification, validation, FEA, testing, prototypingDegree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ / ONC qualified or similar in Mechanical Engineering or similarExperienced designing products from concept to productionAble to manage projects and work to deadlines and budgetsAble to maintain technical documentation and BOM entryInnovative, accurate and passionate about designBe technically minded with a head for problem solvingExcellent leadership and organisational skillsAble to work well individually as well as part of a team The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:Using CAD for concept design and producing technical drawingsUsing Inventor software for design on a day-to-day basisBeing responsible for research, hand calculations, FEA, testing and prototypingManaging the full product lifecycle from concept to productionCreating models/prototypesLiaising with clients and developing solutions for design specificationsCollaborating with different departments to ensure the smooth delivery of projectsMaintaining technical drawings and documentationProviding technical guidance and supportSupporting product Testing, Verification & ValidationSupporting more junior members of the team If you are interested in this position, please apply with an up to date CV as soon as possible.
