Job Title: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Forest City, Iowa (Onsite)

Duration: 12 Months Contract

Job Summary: Our client is seeking a highly motivated Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with experience in the recreational vehicle (RV) industry. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in structural and chassis design, along with hands-on experience in UG NX and Teamcenter. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, high-quality design solutions while ensuring manufacturability and performance.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop mechanical components and systems for recreational vehicles
  • Work on structural and chassis design to ensure durability and performance
  • Create 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings using UG NX
  • Manage product data and revisions using Teamcenter
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams for product development
  • Ensure designs meet industry standards, safety, and regulatory requirements
  • Support prototyping, testing, and validation activities
  • Continuously improve design processes and product performance


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 3–4 years of experience in the recreational vehicle (RV) or automotive industry
  • Strong knowledge of structural design and chassis systems
  • Hands-on experience with UG NX and Teamcenter
  • Solid understanding of design and manufacturing processes
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in RV or heavy vehicle design
  • Familiarity with DFMEA, GD&T, and tolerance stack-up analysis
  • Exposure to PLM systems
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
