JOB DESCRIPTION:

If you are a Mechanical Design Engineering student looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Shakopee, MN location, you will be responsible for designing, testing, and maintaining instrumentation.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Use analytical skills, reasoning, and engineering judgment to develop new and innovative products and technologies
  • Design components including injection molded plastics, die and investment castings, stampings, machined parts, etc.
  • Collaborate with global, cross-functional project teams to ensure new designs meet internal requirements and industry standards
  • Support prototype construction, laboratory testing, and agency testing during the product design cycle
  • Apply sound engineering practices to solve quality issues
  • Provide continuation engineering support for existing products
  • Interact with software, electrical, manufacturing, marketing, supply chain, sales, and customers on technical matters
  • Identify and implement product and process cost reductions and improvements

For This Role, You Will Need:
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's in Engineering or Science from an Engineering School (Freshman, Sophomore, Junior & Senior students will be considered)
  • Zero (0) years of related experience
  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours) per week in-person at a Twin Cities location (Shakopee, Chanhassen, or Eden Prairie, MN)
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
  • GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Prior internship experience
