Senior Mechanical Designer – Powertrain Assembly (PTWA) Position Overview As a Senior Mechanical Designer with Powertrain Assembly experience, you will collaborate with the Powertrain Engineering team to develop innovative solutions for powertrain assembly and test production systems. The team has deep knowledge of CNC products, processes, customer requirements, and assembly systems. In this role, you will develop concepts, detailed designs, stock lists, and layouts to meet project requirements using SolidWorks CAD software. Required Qualifications: Knowledge & Skills Strong background in Powertrain Assembly Experience designing Manual, Automatic, and Semi-Automatic Stations and Machines Knowledge of industrial processes and equipment application Ability to review and interpret customer requirements and specifications Experience assisting Manufacturing and Commissioning teams to achieve part print and process requirements Ability to actively participate in project team meetings Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for project issue resolution and field checks Core Responsibilities – Design & Engineering Design complex tooling for PTWA (Powertrain Assembly), including: Piston stuffing Torque turn Piston travel & compression Superstructures Develop complete designs for manual, automatic, and semi-automatic stations and machines Modify existing 3D and 2D models and drawings for kit designs Create new designs using existing references for simple, intermediate, and complex systems Develop detailed mechanical design drawings and specifications for equipment, dies/tools, and controls using CAD software Interpret and adhere to customer (corporate and plant) specifications and applicable standards Modify and revise designs to correct operating deficiencies or reduce production issues Review and approve product designs and engineering changes Technical Knowledge Experience with assembly of powertrain products Knowledge of: Engine blocks Manual and automatic transmissions Cylinder heads Engine, cylinder head, and transmission testing Systems build of various powertrain products Collaboration & Administrative Assist Manufacturing and Commissioning teams during implementation Present and explain proposals, reports, and findings Perform minor administrative duties, including reviewing and writing reports Produce and reproduce technical drawings as required May supervise and train other drafters, technologists, and technicians CAD / Software Requirements SolidWorks AutoCAD NX #J-18808-Ljbffr
