The ideal candidate has a strong technical foundation in HVAC system design and enjoys taking part in the full project lifecycle—from concept through construction and close-out. You’ll work directly with architects, contractors, and consultantsThe projects this company focus on are some of the most unique and technically challenging private residences in the country. This role combines design excellence, field experience, and collaboration across disciplines to deliver systems that perform beautifully and integrateseamlessly with architectural intent.Key Responsibilities Design HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for luxury residential projects. Conduct on-site surveys to document existing conditions. Develop load calculations, system layouts, equipment selections, riser diagrams, and detailed drawings. Prepare reports, specifications, and design narratives. Coordinate designs with architects and consultants to ensure integrated solutions. Review submittals, evaluate field installations, and participate in site observations. Approximately 15–20% field time expected.Rough Qualifications BSME required; EIT preferred, PE track encouraged. Minimum of 2 years of HVAC design and field coordination experience in residential, commercial, retail, or institutional projects (Experience in any Building type is transferrable here)Core Skills Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD. Experience with Trane Trace, Carrier HAP, or similar load calculation software. Strong understanding of load calculations, equipment selection, duct and pipe sizing, controls strategy, and documentation. Familiarity with geothermal, chilled water, VRF, and high-performance HVAC systems. Working knowledge of international mechanical codes; NYC code experience a plus.
