The successful candidate will work with our test engineering staff to produce the mechanical portion of our product from conception through implementation. This is a perfect fit for the engineer with a creative spirit who wants to take a project from concept to completion. The position is first shift, full time, and permanent. Our customers are leading OEM and contract manufacturers representing a diverse set of industries such as aerospace, automotive, gaming, medical and beyond. Responsibilities Receive and understand customer drawings and samples. Conceptualize and present design ideas for assigned projects. Use 3-D modeling to develop new parts and assemblies or revise existing parts and assemblies. Create and maintain mechanical designs and engineering documents associated with existing and new products. Determine appropriate source for fabrication of custom parts. Manage vendors and outsourcing. Fabricate, assemble, and ensure mechanical functionality of assigned projects. Assist test engineers in verifying proper operation of new designs. Direct technicians in assembly of design Troubleshooting complex shop problems and developing solutions to design and manufacturing related issues. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field 3+ years of mechanical design engineering experience Proficiency with SOLIDWORKS (3D solid modeling, etc.) Knowledge of manufacturing processes (metal fabrication, assembly, machining, etc.) Proficiency with mechanical shops tools including lathe and mill. Understanding of use of CNC equipment. Ability to utilize hand tools, drills, soldering iron, etc. to assemble products. General knowledge of Electricity, Electronics, Pneumatics Ability to read and work from electronic schematics. Physical Demand (Special Considerations) While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, kneel/squat, bend, and push/pull/lift objects of up to 50 lbs. #J-18808-Ljbffr
