The Mechanical Engineer will design, analyze, and improve metal fabrication processes and components, ensuring manufacturability, quality, and compliance with aerospace standards. This role works closely with estimating, production, quality, and leadership teams to support new product development and ongoing process improvements. Key Responsibilities Design and analyze components and assemblies using CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar) Review and interpret customer drawings, specifications, and RFQs for manufacturability Collaborate with production and quality teams to optimize fabrication processes Develop tooling, fixtures, and assembly methods to improve efficiency and quality Apply GD&T and tolerance analysis to ensure components meet specifications Support First Article Inspection (FAI) and other aerospace documentation requirements Provide technical guidance to estimators for accurate quoting of complex parts Evaluate new materials, processes, and technologies to improve product performance Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field 3+ years of experience in metal fabrication, precision machining, or aerospace manufacturing Proficient in CAD design software (SolidWorks, Inventor, or equivalent) Strong knowledge of GD&T and blueprint reading Experience with AS9100, ITAR, or aerospace quality standards preferred Familiarity with CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, and welding processes Strong problem-solving and communication skills Preferred Experience Aerospace or defense manufacturing environment Designing for low-volume, high-mix production Tooling and fixture design experience Collaboration with estimating and production teams to support quotes and manufacturability #J-18808-Ljbffr
