We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Engineer to lead and perform 3D scanning and metrology tasks, ensuring that components meet strict quality and specification standards. The successful candidate will play a critical role in comparing scan data to engineering prints, creating redline documentation, and processing engineering change forms.

Job Title: Mechanical Engineer
Location: Loveland, CO (Onsite)
Duration: 12 Months

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct 3D scans of last article parts using the Lumafield Neptune scanner.
  • Analyze and compare 3D scan/metrology data against engineering prints to confirm part accuracy.
  • Create redline prints to document necessary changes and ensure alignment with specifications.
  • Prepare and process engineering change forms to document revisions in design and processes.
  • Collaborate with the engineering and quality assurance teams to discuss findings, modifications, and improvements.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation of inspection results and redline changes.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality assurance processes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in 3D scanning and metrology.
  • Familiarity with Lumafield Neptune or similar 3D scanning equipment.
  • Proficiency in interpreting and comparing engineering prints to scanned data.
  • Experience in redlining technical drawings and preparing engineering change documentation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective team collaboration.
  • Ability to work onsite and hands-on in a manufacturing or laboratory environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of additional metrology tools and quality assurance methodologies.
  • Experience with CAD software for creating and editing technical drawings.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production setting.
