Overview The Mechanical Engineer supports manufacturing operations by designing, developing, and improving mechanical systems, processes, and equipment. This role focuses on optimizing production efficiency, ensuring equipment reliability, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, safety, and cost performance. Responsibilities Design, develop, and implement mechanical systems, tools, jigs, and fixtures to support manufacturing operations. Evaluate and improve production processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure consistent product quality. Provide engineering support for equipment installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Create and update technical drawings, process documentation, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Collaborate with maintenance, production, and quality teams to resolve technical issues and implement process improvements. Conduct root cause analysis and corrective action for mechanical or equipment failures. Identify and recommend equipment upgrades or modifications to improve performance and reduce downtime. Support new product introductions and process changes through design validation, testing, and equipment commissioning. Ensure compliance with company safety, environmental, and quality standards. Maintain accurate records of engineering projects, designs, and performance data. Willing to work an on-call schedule, including nights, weekends. Education and Experience Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required. Experience: 3–5 years of mechanical or manufacturing engineering experience in a production or industrial setting. Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar). Strong understanding of mechanical systems, machine design, and industrial equipment. Competency within manufacturing processes such as machining, welding, forming, and assembly. Experience with root cause analysis, FMEA, and Lean/Continuous Improvement tools. Knowledge of PLCs, automation, robotics, and industrial electrical systems is a plus. Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Effective communication and teamwork abilities. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications Professional Engineer (PE) license or EIT certification. Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or TPM methodologies. Hands-on experience with industrial automation or process control systems.
