This role will lead and oversee the mechanical scope of the build, ensuring quality, compliance, and successful system turnover. Location: Boydton, VA (Onsite) Duration: 12 months (Strong potential for extension) Key ResponsibilitiesEngineering & Design ReviewReview mechanical design documents, specifications, and IFC packagesValidate compliance with ASHRAE, IMC, ASME, NFPA, AHJ, and manufacturer standardsRespond to RFIs and evaluate equipment submittals & shop drawingsConstruction Phase OversightConduct field walks to verify installation complianceOversee equipment placement, anchorage, vibration isolation, and safetyMonitor piping fabrication, welding QA/QC, and pressure testingManage installation sequencing and constructability reviewsQA/QC & ComplianceReview inspection reports, weld maps, hydro tests, and flushing plansValidate redlines and built conditions for turnover documentationAudit contractor performance and track corrective actionsCoordination & IntegrationLead MEP coordination across electrical, structural, civil, plumbing, and controlsSupport BIM coordination and clash resolutionEnsure integration with UPS rooms, battery rooms, and data hallsCommissioning & TurnoverReview commissioning scripts and proceduresWitness functional testing, equipment startup, CHW balancing, and BAS testingSupport IST, punch list closure, and final turnover Project ScopeMechanical systems include:Chilled water generation & distributionCRAH/CRAC unitsAHUsEvaporative cooling & heat rejection equipmentMechanical piping systems (CHW, CW, HHW, CDW, fuel)BAS controlsVentilation & pressurization systemsFire protection coordinationThis is a ground-up hyperscale data center build, supporting all phases from design review through final commissioning and turnover.
