- Create detailed 2D and 3D piping designs using AutoCAD and associated CAD tools
- Develop piping layouts, isometrics, P&IDs, orthographic drawings, and bills of materials
- Coordinate designs with mechanical, structural, electrical, and controls disciplines to ensure alignment and constructability
- Apply industry codes, client standards, and safety‑focused design principles throughout all deliverables
- Participate in field data collection and site reviews to verify conditions and support construction activities
- Support projects involving pipelines, terminals, refineries, glass manufacturing, and other industrial and energy‑related facilities
- Contribute to accurate, responsive, and solution‑oriented design packages that reflect high standards of quality and constructability
Skills & Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in piping design, drafting, or CAD‑based mechanical design
- Proficiency with AutoCAD (2D and 3D); familiarity with tools like AutoCAD Plant 3D preferred
- Must have a strong understanding of piping components, routing practices, and mechanical design fundamentals
- Ability to interpret P&IDs, engineering specifications, and industrial mechanical drawings
- Knowledge of ASME, API, ANSI, and other applicable codes relevant to petroleum and industrial environments
- Strong communication and cross‑discipline coordination skills.
Work Environment
This role is onsite and offers opportunities to work on diverse engineering projects across the U.S., including pipelines, energy systems, and industrial facilities. The environment is collaborative and multidisciplinary, emphasizing responsiveness, accuracy, and long-term client relationships.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Maumee, OH.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.
