Candidates selected for roles will be employed as contract workers through a Boeing approved 3rd party for the duration of the specified project. Regular and predictable attendance is required. This position is for Spares Engineering Design under Boeing Global Services. Spares Engineering Design provides DE engineering support. We provide engineering solutions for obsolescent parts. Responsibilities Mechanical System Design and analysis (air conditioning/supply, air distribution/ventilation, cabin pressure control/CACTCS, equipment cooling, cargo fire protection, ice/rain protection, nitrogen generating system, etc.) Providing solution for obsolescence to supplier and Boeing Type Design Reviews and approves analysis. Guide a team of less experienced engineers Work closely with Team manager and Leads to assist other team members. Work with project engineers, system stress, M&P, suppliers and procurement to ensure approval of analysis. Present team independently during interaction with suppliers Work and coordinate with other engineering groups to ensure requirements are met. Develop analytical process to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency. Experience in Boeing design release processes, policies and procedures, handling tooling issues, supplier-driven changes. Being able to interpret industry/company standards & processes. Some tools to be familiar with are CatiaV5 (systems routing such as tubing and ducting), Enovia, PDM, STEALTH, QMAP, REDARS, ETAC, ESPEC, Bridge and other industry engineering tools. Required Skills 8+ years of experience with engineering disciplines related to aircraft Environmental Control Systems analysis including ATA 21 air conditioning, air distribution/supply, cabin pressure control, equipment cooling, NGS, ATA 26 cargo fire protection, ATA 30 ice/rain protection, ATA 36 Pneumatics, ATA Oxygen, compressible/incompressible fluid mechanics, systems engineering, and/or computational fluid dynamics. 5+ years of experience in a commercial aircraft environment. Must have at least a Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Civil, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering. 2D & 3D design with some knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, GD&T. Experience in design release processes, policies and procedures, handling tooling issues, supplier-driven changes and certification. Preferred Skills 10+ years of DE experience in commercial aircraft environment; Boeing 7-series and Douglas A/P experience is a plus. 5+ years of experience in Production, Sub-Components or Spares. 1+ year of experience working in a cross-functional team environment and having good verbal and written communication skills.
