Hours: Mon-Fri standard business hours

Compensation: Base salary and full benefits package

We are currently partnered with a major manufacturing company seeking a Mechanical Systems Engineer to join their growing team in Kokomo, IN. The ideal candidate will provide engineering, project management, and facilities support to optimize plant operations. This role involves managing mechanical engineering projects, improving systems and equipment, and ensuring timely, cost-effective project completion.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage engineering projects, including supervision, tracking, and auditing of timelines and costs.
  • Prepare documentation for capital projects.
  • Develop engineering specifications, work scopes, and project schedules.
  • Design equipment layouts within the manufacturing facility to ensure the efficient and safe integration of mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Engineer repairs and modifications to plant infrastructure, utilities, and equipment.
  • Maintain and update technical drawings using CAD software.
  • Ensure safety, environmental compliance, and adherence to quality standards for all projects.
  • Collaborate with purchasing to ensure cost-effective project completion and maintain productivity improvements in manufacturing.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 3-5 years of industrial experience, with 3-5 years of project management experience.
  • Knowledge of machine elements, power transmission, pumps/piping, CAD drafting, and structural analysis.
  • Strong project management, troubleshooting, technical writing, and communication skills.
  • Preferred knowledge of industrial hydraulics, facilities engineering, and furnace combustion.
