Position Introduction/Key Duties Mechanical Technician to support our partnership with a commercial aerospace company at their rocket production facility in Briggs, TX. Through this partnership, Cimarron supplies skilled technical talent in support of our customer’s advanced launch and space systems. This customer designs and builds small- to medium-lift launch vehicles, lunar landers, and orbital vehicles for government and commercial missions from low Earth orbit to the Moon and beyond. Together, our teams leverage advanced carbon composite structures, patented propulsion technologies, and common components across platforms to move fast, improve reliability, and deliver payloads at a lower cost. Key Duties Perform production fabrication, assembly, electro‑mechanical assembly, and modifications on spacecraft and ground systems. Diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical system faults in spacecraft and ground systems. Conduct operational maintenance, refurbishment, and verification of assembly accuracy, including self‑inspection duties. Assist with launch vehicle integration, payload installation, cargo stowage, and post‑mission recovery activities at remote sites. Perform functional checks on installed systems, document assembly tasks, and coordinate work priorities with management. Required Skills, Experience, and Education Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens or permanent residents are eligible for consideration at this time. Ability to pass physical examination (visual acuity, color perception, respiratory, etc.) to meet production certification and safety requirements. 3 or more years of related experience. Experience drilling, installing, and repairing composite materials. Experience with the tools, equipment, installation techniques, and acceptance criteria for a broad range of fastener types, including threaded fasteners, threaded inserts, tubular rivets, solid rivets, blind bolts, and lock bolts. Experience working on spacecraft hardware. Experience as a task lead of structural assembly lifts and moves. Experience supporting final engine assembly, including turbopump assembly and overall engine integration. Experience performing detailed, precision assembly work, with transferable experience from helicopter or aerospace engine programs. Hands‑on experience assembling, installing, and troubleshooting valves and related fluid system components. High School diploma or equivalent. Desired Skills, Experience, Or Education Experience performing precision orbital welds on tubing and components, ensuring compliance with aerospace standards and quality requirements. Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license or similar certification. 5 or more years of related experience.
