Other Conditions:
Evening, weekend, television, distance education (i.e. Lanai and Molokai) and off-campus may be assigned as part of regular workload.

Position may be converted 11-month to 9-month, based on operational needs.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair the full range of analog and digital audio-visual equipment in use on campus and associated remote educational centers including but not limited to cable television, video and audio equipment utilized for classroom instruction.
  • Install, maintain, and repair interactive distant learning technology equipment on-site and at outreach center locations
  • Assist faculty and staff in proper audio video equipment operation.
  • Create and maintain inventories of equipment and parts and keep records of equipment on loan.
  • Supervise student assistants when available.
  • Assist in installing and maintaining campus electronic card access system and closed-circuit television building security camera systems.
  • Configure and calibrate electronic equipment to industry protocols when necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Professional Work Experience
  • Possession of a baccalaureate degree and zero (0) years of progressively responsible experience with responsibilities for Media Services; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Functional knowledge of principles, practices and techniques in the area of Media Services demonstrated by knowledge, understanding and ability to apply concepts, terminology.
  • Functional knowledge and understanding of principles, theories, federal and state laws, rules, regulations and systems associated with Media Services.
  • Demonstrated ability to recognize problems, identify possible causes and resolve the full range problems that may commonly occur in the area of Media Services.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand oral and written documentation, write reports and procedures, and communicate effectively in a variety of situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team members and individuals.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer and apply word processing software
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated the ability to operate electronic tablets and apply web interface control related software and monitoring software.
  • Ability to read electronic schematic diagrams for diagnostic repair.
