We are seeking a full or part-time dedicated Medicaid Application Specialist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing Medicaid applications, ensuring accurate and timely submission of documentation, and coordinating with clients, care provider staff, and Medicaid caseworkers. This role requires a thorough understanding of the application process and compliance with HIPAA and other privacy standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with Medicaid application processes, including intake and documentation collection
  • Review financial documentation to ensure all necessary information is complete and accurate for application submission
  • Collaborate with clients, support persons, care facility staff, social workers, and Medicaid caseworkers
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations during all patient interactions and data handling
  • Maintain detailed records of applications, follow up on pending cases, and update status in relevant systems
  • Provide excellent client service by addressing questions related to Medicaid benefits and application procedures
  • Stay current with changes in Medicaid laws and processing

Qualifications

  • Two years of experience in Medicaid application processing
  • Good customer service and communication skills
  • Good follow-through skills to see matters to conclusion
  • A great job for former State Medicaid Eligibility Specialists
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation processes
  • Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly and professionally
  • Experience working in long-term care settings
