JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a Medical Advisor - CNS and Orphan products (reporting directly to the CEO) for our client, an important international pharmaceutical industry based in the beautiful Lugano area.
 


TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee the medical facets of pre-launch, launch phases, and lifecycle management of the CNS portfolio.
    This entails managing medical activities related to the latest scientific advancements, clinical data, and treatment protocols for the products.
  • Furnish medical input and support in the design, planning, and execution of clinical trials, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and ethical principles;
  • Collaborate with multifaceted teams to devise and execute medical strategies that align with the overall product development blueprint for CNS/Parkinson's disease therapies.
    This encompasses valuable contributions to commercial and product-related activities such as market evaluation, positioning in therapy, supporting pricing and reimbursement, and advocating for patients;
  • Create and deliver medical education and training programs for internal teams, healthcare professionals, and key opinion leaders to enhance their comprehension of Parkinson's disease and the associated treatment alternatives;
  • Ensure that all medical and scientific activities adhere to regulatory prerequisites and industry benchmarks, incorporating pharmacovigilance and adherence to pertinent laws and directives;
  • Establish and nurture robust associations with key opinion leaders, healthcare professionals, and educational institutions to garner insights, disseminate scientific knowledge, and inspire cooperation in the Parkinson's disease domain;
  • Address inquiries from healthcare professionals, patients, and internal stakeholders regarding medical information pertinent to Parkinson's disease products, ensuring accurate and compliant communication;
  • Maintain close collaboration with teams such as marketing, market access, and commercial operations to offer medical insights and support in the formulation of marketing tactics, market access initiatives, and promotional materials;
  • Contribute to the development of scientific publications, including manuscripts, abstracts, and presentations, to convey clinical data and research findings pertaining to Parkinson's disease products;
  • Take part in advisory boards, expert assemblies, and scientific conferences to impart insights, gather feedback, and contribute to the scientific community's understanding of Parkinson's disease and its management;
  • Identify fresh prospects within the CNS Therapeutic area, partake in due diligence, create gap analyses, and develop actions to address these gaps and mitigate risks.
    Also, contribute to commercial activities like market evaluation, positioning in therapy, pricing, and reimbursement.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
  • Medical doctor, PhD in Biology or Pharmacy or equivalent;
  • Fluent in English.
    French, German or Italian as a plus;
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the medical or pharmaceutical field, with at least 5 years in a medical advisory role or a related position that requires close collaboration with pharmaceutical companies;
  • Experience in the treatment and management of patients with Parkinson's disease or other central nervous system (CNS) condition;
  • knowledge of pharmaceutical development processes, including drug discovery, preclinical and clinical development, and familiarity with specific regulatory requirements;
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, medical opinion leaders, and regulatory authorities;
  • Analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a strategic mindset to address complex scientific challenges and make informed decisions during the research and development process;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
