Position Summary We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dermatology Medical Assistant to join our team. This role supports our dermatologists in providing high-quality care for patients in both general dermatology and dermatologic surgical procedures. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and committed to creating a positive patient experience. Key Responsibilities Prepare exam rooms and ensure all necessary supplies and instruments are ready for patient visits and procedures. Assist dermatologists with general dermatology exams, treatments, and minor surgical procedures, including biopsies and excisions. Take and record patient histories, vital signs, and relevant dermatologic information accurately. Educate patients on post-procedure care, medications, and general skin health. Perform clinical tasks such as wound care, suture removal, cryotherapy, and specimen preparation for lab submission. Maintain sterile technique and follow infection control protocols during procedures. Manage patient flow, schedule follow-up appointments, and assist with pre-authorization and insurance verification as needed. Document patient encounters accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) and maintain confidentiality of all patient information. Assist in inventory management, including ordering and stocking medical supplies and medications. Provide compassionate support and answer patient questions professionally. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred. Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification is a plus. Previous experience in dermatology or surgical assistance preferred. Proficiency in EMR systems and basic computer skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Knowledge of sterile technique, wound care, and basic dermatologic procedures. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical setting while maintaining attention to detail.
