We are looking for a Medical Office Assistant who will provide the highest quality of patient care by becoming an integral part of the clinical team. Job Details Duties/Responsibilities Prepare exam rooms for use following protocol including disinfecting, stocking all rooms, and checking vaccinations and medications availability for the day. Prepare patient charts with pre-visit planning by reviewing the next day’s schedule and identifying gaps in care. Ensure or obtain the last mammogram, breast ultrasound, colonoscopy, immunizations, and any clinical studies or consults required for that visit. Escort patients to exam rooms and direct patient flow for efficiency. Collect and document patient information, clinical data, vital signs, allergies, medication list, chief complaint, pain, and current symptoms. Obtain additional data from tests and reports, report findings to provider, and recognize abnormal findings or changes in condition. Confirm and clarify written orders before delegated tasks are performed. Collect, prepare, and process laboratory specimens, track and enter results, and perform quality control for waived testing. Assist with in-office procedures such as EKG, holter monitor, and other tests. Assist with front office duties: greeting patients, answering phones, verifying insurances. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Completion of a NYS accredited Medical Assistant Program. Current Medical Assistant certification (preferred). BCLS certification from the American Heart Association (in-person classes only). Proficiency with care tasks such as phlebotomy and aseptic technique. Salary Range USD $23.71 - USD $30.21 per hour. This range is an estimate; actual pay depends on qualifications, skills, experience, and location. Benefits are not included in this range.
